Eurythmics

Eurythmics was a British new wave duo formed in 1980, consisting of Scottish vocalist Annie Lennox and English musician Dave Stewart. Both had previously been members of the band The Tourists, which disbanded in 1980. Their debut album, In the Garden (1981), saw little success, but their second album, Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) (1983), brought global acclaim. The title track reached number one in Canada and the US, and number two in the UK.The duo released numerous hit singles and albums, including "Love Is a Stranger", "There Must Be an Angel (Playing with My Heart)" and "Here Comes the Rain Again", before splitting in 1990. Stewart pursued a career as a record producer, while Lennox launched her solo career in 1992. They reunited in 1999 to release the album Peace, earning a Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music. Further reunions led to the single "I've Got a Life" in 2005. Eurythmics have sold an estimated 75 million records worldwide and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022.
